Crofton Health Walk

Would like to improve your health, or just get out and meet people? If so we may have the answer…

Health Walks are volunteer led walks that aim to give you an opportunity to get outdoors, meet new people and improve your health. You do not have to be super fit or own a pair of walking boots. Wear comfortable footwear and clothing appropriate to the weather.

The Crofton walk was formed in 2001 by local volunteers with the help of Wakefield Councils Healthy Transport Team. Since the launch, the walk has gone from strength to strength, with a number of regular walkers turning up each fortnight. The group members enjoy coming on the walks because it is an ideal opportunity for them to improve health and to socialise.

If you are interested in coming to this friendly and welcoming group, all you need to do is turn up on one of the walk dates. The walks take up to 2 hours and are fortnightly on a Tuesday leaving from Crofton Community Centre, Middle Lane at 12.00pm - dates for 2007 below.  The group goes back to the Community Centre at the end of the walk for refreshments or has a stop during the walk. There are also health walk groups running from Walton and Nostell Priory.
