Crofton has an abundance of sporting facilities. The "Sidings" has a number of football pitches as well as an enclosed cricket field. The site is a venue for many amateur competitions. At the top of the siding is a modern childrens play area.

The Community Centre has an all weather floodlit football pitch as well a gym.

Close by are the Walton and Anglers Country Parks which provide easy walking.

For keen cyclists the Wakefield WoW and Wheel cycle routes pass through the village.
